High Cotton Recording Studio 

High Cotton Recording Studio is located just south of Nashville, TN. Opening their doors in October 2018 they have already ushered in an impressive multigenre roster of local musicians including some of country music’s most promising new artists. The lineup has included RaeLynn, Lucie Silvas, The Josephines, and Lauren Jenkins to name a few.

I was asked in the beginning of the process to create a logo that would reflect the studio’s truly unique 1970s aesthetic and rich Louisiana background.

Starting off the bat, I drew from a palette of retro tones, primarily of the rust orange that is so prevalent in their space. To balance the typography, I hand rendered some ornamental cotton blossoms which also reflects the name of the brand. The sunburst came into development last to round off the design and add an additional pop of color and energy.
